(CLEVELAND)- Dr. Johnny Hunt, Pastor of First Baptist Church Woodstock, author and former President of the Southern Baptist Convention, will speak at the 2017 commencement ceremony at Truett McConnell University in Cleveland. The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 13 at 10 a.m.
Hunt’s educational credits include a BA in Religion from Gardner-Webb College where he was voted “Ministerial Student of theYear” in 1979. He continued onto Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he earned a Masters of Divinity in 1981. Southeastern honored Hunt in 1997 by naming The Chair of Biblical Preaching in his honor in 1997. He has also received several honorary Doctorates over the years for his work in ministry.
For 40 years, Hunt has answered the call to ministry with 30 of those years serving as Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Woodstock in Woodstock, Ga.
Hunt has also published books including Demolishing Strongholds, Building Your Leadership Resume along with children’s books and conference series materials.

Saturday’s commencement service is a ticketed event and will be held in TMU’s gymnasium. All guests must receive a ticket from a graduating senior and present a ticket for admittance upon entrance into the gym. Doors will open at 9 a.m.
