A man who says he’s the former fiancé of Ashley Sosebee, a 32-year-old Cornelia woman wanted for her alleged involvement in a recent kidnapping, is pleading for Sosebee to “turn herself in.”
Lumpkin County resident Patrick Dean, who was born and raised in Habersham, said Sosebee was his fiancé for three and a half years. Dean said he’s spent at least $100,000 over the last six years in attempt to resolve Sosebee’s legal matters. Now, he says he only wants to see her surrender to police for her own safety.
“She was my fiancé and I loved her,” he said. “I don’t want to see her get hurt or killed.”
Dean went on to say Sosebee is well-known in many Habersham County circles. He urges anyone who may be in contact with Sosebee to encourage her to turn herself in.
Dean requests any friends of Sosebee to contact him directly by phone.
The White County Sheriff’s Office announced earlier this week that authorities are searching for Sosebee and another suspect in connection with a kidnapping in early October.
On Oct. 6, White County deputies responded to a report of an escaped kidnapping victim located in Clermont. Police say the female victim managed to free herself from restraints and called 911 at a nearby residence.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
Both suspects – Sosebee and Dylan Anthony Forrester, 30, of Gainesville – are wanted on two counts of aggravated assault and a single count of kidnapping for their alleged involvement in the incident.
Both suspects are known to the victim, according to authorities. The investigation is still ongoing.
