Clarkesville is mourning the loss of one of its former leaders. Former City Manager Bayne Richard “Dick” Bunce died Saturday, September 25.
Bunce served as Clarkesville City Manager for seven years from the mid-70s to early 80’s after retiring as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy. During his time as city manager Bunce was instrumental in the planning and development of Pitts Park.
He’s survived by his wife Sandy, six children, fifteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at Hillside Memorial Chapel Funeral Home Sunday, September 27th from 1-4 PM. Services will be held October 10th at 1 p.m. at Grace Calvary Episcopal Church in Clarkesville.
