Football Friday: Week 12

The Habersham Central Raiders closed out their season at home Friday night with a region loss to Shiloh, 43-28. The Raiders went 3-7 overall, 1-6 in Region 8-6A, with wins against Apalachee, White, and Central Gwinnett.

Riding high on their 3-game win streak and last year’s run-away victory over the Bears, the White County Warriors did not expect to be denied all access to the end zone Friday, but they were. The Warriors lost their last game of the regular season to Cherokee Bluff, 30-0. While it was a tough night for the Warriors, they’re not finished yet. They went 4-6;3-3 in Region 7-3A and clinched a spot in playoffs which kickoff next week.

Stephens County is also headed to the playoffs. The Indians (7-3;2-3) shut out East Jackson (3-7;1-4) 24-0 on the road Friday to claim the fourth playoff spot in 8-3A.

And the No. 1 Rabun County Wildcats ended their season on Oct. 29 with a near perfect record going 9-1 overall, 3-0 in Region 8-2A. Rabun QB Gunner Stockton and WR Jaden Gibson advanced their state leads in passing and receiving yards. The Cats will pull on that power as they work to bring home the state championship Callaway denied them last year.

Here’s a look at how other area teams wrapped up their regular season on Friday:
