The Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia will host the 15th annual Folk Pottery Show & Arts Festival on Saturday, September 2.
The event will be held on the grounds of the Sautee Nacoochee Center from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. It will feature 45 artists who will be at various locations on the center campus.
In addition to potters, there will be painters, woodworkers, jewelry makers, and others participating.
Festivalgoers will have an opportunity to speak with the folk potters. Pottery and other art pieces will be available for sale.
The Folk Pottery Museum will be open to visitors. Roger Corn: Folk Art Pottery is the featured exhibition. It highlights the colorful and unusual works of Roger Corn of Lula, GA.
Festivalgoers may also tour the Heritage Site and Cultural Center, which features a restored slave cabin from the northeast Georgia mountains and a blacksmith shop. A blacksmith will be demonstrating on an open forge.
In addition, the center’s local history museum and gallery shops will be open.
The gallery shops will present the Mixed Media Masterpieces show. Paintings by three award-winning plein air artists will be on display and available for sale.
Local musicians will gather for an old-time music jam on the Outdoor Stage.
Admission is free. Food will be available for purchase.
