A Freeze Warning is in effect for Bartow, Carroll, Catoosa, Chattooga, Cherokee, Dade, Dawson, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Haralson, Heard, Lumpkin, Murray, Paulding, Pickens, Polk, Towns, Union, Walker, White, and Whitfield Counties from Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.
In the wake of the strong cold front, widespread freezing temperatures are possible in the mountains and surrounding areas on Wednesday morning. Low temperatures could drop as low as 28-30º across the region which will have significant impacts on sensitive crops. Many trees and flowers will also be impacted with the recent warm weather causing many to bloom out already.
Frost will also be possible well outside the Freeze Watch area so be prepared for that on Wednesday morning as well.
