
Five individuals were arrested Thursday, May 15, following a joint drug investigation by the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO).
According to the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, authorities executed a search warrant at a residence on Lake Harbor Trail in Martin as part of an ongoing narcotics probe. During the search, investigators allegedly discovered 45 grams of suspected methamphetamine inside a home.
Harley Justus, 23, of Martin, was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking in methamphetamine, conspiracy to commit a felony and tampering with evidence.
Teresa French, 55, of Martin, was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking in methamphetamine, conspiracy to commit a felony and use of a communication facility in the commission of a felony involving controlled substances.
Karen Chastain, 58, of Martin, faces charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking in methamphetamine, two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, use of a communication facility in the commission of a felony involving controlled substances and felony tampering with evidence.
Brittany Davis, 23, of Martin, was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, trafficking in methamphetamine, conspiracy to commit a felony and felony tampering with evidence.
James Brian Davis, 44, also of Martin, was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and use of a communication facility in the commission of a felony involving controlled substances. Investigators said he also had outstanding warrants for a felony probation violation out of Fulton County and a felony parole violation.
The investigation remains active, and authorities indicated that additional charges may be forthcoming.
