The JP Kircher era is set to begin at Piedmont College as the 2016 fall men’s golf schedule has been announced with four tournaments on the slate for the Lions.
Kircher will have the Lions competing at a high level while continuing the tradition of the Piedmont College Fall Invitational at The Orchard Golf and Country Club.
Piedmont will open the season on September 11-12 competing in the Rhodes College Men’s Fall Collegiate Golf Classic in Tunica, Mississippi. The Tunica National Golf Course will be the site of the tournament for the fifth time since 2010 though this marks the first trip for Piedmont to the tournament.
The 11th annual Piedmont College Fall Invitational will take place at the Orchard Golf and Country Club on September 19-20 in Clarkesville, Georgia. The Lions won the event a season ago and have finished in the top-3 for the past three seasons. Piedmont’s win in the PC Fall Invitational marked the first time since 2009 that the Lions were victorious in the home tournament.
Piedmont will stay within the Peach State for its next tournament just down the road in Flowery Branch, Georgia on October 3-4. The Lions will compete in the Royal Lakes Fall Invitational hosted by Oglethorpe University at the Royal Lakes Country Club. This event has been on the schedule the past two seasons with five other USA South schools competing in the event in 2015.
The final tournament of the fall schedule comes at the O’Briant-Jensen Memorial in Greensboro, North Carolina hosted by Guilford College. The Lions will conclude the fall portion of the schedule on October 17-18 at Sedgefield Country Club which features two compelling layouts from architect greats Donald Ross and Pete Dye. Sedgefield Country Club is in fact, the only property in the country to couple courses from these two legends.
The spring schedule will be announced at a later date with information available on PiedmontLions.com. It all starts with the Rhodes College Men’s Fall Collegiate Golf Classic on September 11 in Tunica, Mississippi.
