First Phase of Appalachian Parkway to Open in November

(Cleveland)- Finishing work is continuing on the first phase of the Appalachian Parkway/ Cleveland Bypass. Thursday, crews were installing traffic control lights at the intersection of Highway 115 west of Cleveland. Also Thursday DOT officials activated information signs at both entrances to the parkway, advising motorist that the bypass will open November 20th, weather permitting.

Friday paving crews were laying down the smooth top service on Highway 115 west leading up to the parkway. Some additional paving and finishing work is needed before the road will be ready for that opening date.

Motorist are reminded to slow down in the work zone areas and extra caution will be needed when the first phase of the roadway opens for public use.
