Fireworks are now banned in more than 100 Georgia counties affected by the drought. Gov. Nathan Deal issued the executive order on Monday, citing numerous instances of uncontrolled fires in the state.
All of Northeast Georgia is covered by the ban including the counties of Habersham, Banks, Dawson, Elbert, Fannin, Forsyth, Franklin, Gilmer, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Pickens, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union and White.

The ignition of consumer fireworks is prohibited in these areas as long as the governor’s order remains in place.
