State fire investigators are working to determine what caused a fire to break out Friday inside a house northwest of Cleveland.
White County Fire Services, supported by the Cleveland Fire Department, responded to the afternoon blaze in the area of Kellum Valley Road.
Smoke from a fire in the kitchen filled the modular home. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to the rest of the house.
“Fire personnel stayed on scene throughout the afternoon to prevent re-ignition,” says White County Public Information Officer Bryce Barrett.
The Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
