Firefighters rescue dog from Chattahoochee River

A dog is safe at home thanks to the quick response of White County Fire Services and supporting agencies.

This afternoon, emergency crews were called to Goat Neck Road along the Chattahoochee River after a report that a dog had fallen down an embankment and become trapped in the water.

Assistant Chief Josh Taylor and EMS Lieutenant Shad Sosebee entered the river and successfully retrieved the animal. Habersham Emergency Services also responded to assist in the rescue.

The dog was safely removed from the water without injury.
