Firefighters extinguished a two-story structure fire in Athens earlier this week, according to the Athens-Clarke County Fire Department.
Fire crews responded to the blaze at 3 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, on O’Conner Boulevard where they found heavy smoke coming from the roof of the home.
Firefighters made entry and located the seat of the fire in the attic before they extinguished the flames.
No injuries were reported, as all residents were awakened by smoke detectors and able to evacuate the home.
