More than a half dozen fire and emergency crews responded to the scene of a chicken house fire on Stone Pile Road near Clarkesville Thursday night.
Units responded to the Wood Pullet Farm shortly after 8:30 p.m.
Pumper trucks hauled water to the scene from half a mile away. Firefighters worked for several hours to contain the blaze and keep it from spreading to nearby structures.
