Local, state and federal authorities are investigating a pre-dawn burglary at a Banks County sporting goods store during which an unspecified number of firearms were stolen.

According to Banks County Sheriff’s Sgt. Carissa McFadden, deputies were dispatched to an alarm call around 4:15 a.m. at Country Boys Sports located on Caudell Road. “When deputies arrived, they found the business had been burglarized and it appeared that a number of guns were missing from the interior of the business,” McFadden says.

The Banks County Sheriff’s Office requested GBI Crime Scene Technicians and the ATF to assist with processing the scene. McFadden says investigators are examining the scene and actively looking into leads of the possible suspects.

She asks anyone with information about the crime – if you saw anyone or anything suspicious in the area – to please contact Investigator Spenser Ventrice at 706-677-2248.
