Personnel from Habersham County Emergency Services (HCES), the Cornelia and Demorest Fire Departments, and the Lee Arrendale Fire Brigade responded to the scene.

They were dispatched to the location after a report of a residential structure fire with flames showing. When they arrived, about 70% of the single wide mobile home was engulfed in flames, according to HCES Director Chad Black.

“They made an aggressive interior attack. They were able to knock the main body of fire down,” Black says, but the home was a total loss. “There are some pets that are dead inside that we located, but no other injuries to any civilians or any of our personnel.”

Black says no one was inside the home when the fire broke out. The State Fire Marshal is investigating to determine what caused the fire.
