Fire engulfs home in Gillsville, displacing four

Crews battle blaze on Holly Springs Road; cause under investigation

GILLSVILLE, Ga. – A residential fire east of Gainesville displaced four occupants early Monday morning, March 3.

Hall County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the 3600 block of Holly Springs Road in Gillsville around 5:30 a.m., says Hall County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Kimberlie Ledsinger. She says firefighters arrived to find the house fully engulfed in flames and “began a defensive attack from the exterior of the home.”

Firefighters quickly extinguished the bulk of the fire and remained on the scene to extinguish remaining hot spots.

No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced residents.

The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
