Habersham County and Tallulah Falls firefighters spent much of Tuesday evening battling a house fire near Turnerville.
A 911 caller alerted authorities to the fire at 6:38 p.m. on May 9. Multiple units responded to the scene at 107 Cheyenne Sunset off The Orchard Road. When crews arrived, they found the 1,500-square-foot wood frame structure fully involved.
Crews had to cool an adjacent propane tank while attempting to control the fire.
The closest hydrant is located at Station 17 on The Orchard Road at Bear Gap Road, so tankers had to shuttle water to supply the firefighting operation.
Cheyenne Sunset is a gravel road located across from the entrance to The Orchard.
No injuries were reported.
The resident was assisted by family members and declined immediate disaster assistance from the American Red Cross.
Firefighters cleared the scene at 9:15 p.m. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
