Fieldale, NGHS make Newsweek’s ‘Greatest Workplaces’ list

Several local businesses ranked on this year’s Newsweek list of “America’s Greatest Workplaces.”

Baldwin-based Fieldale Farms earned 4 stars on Newsweek’s list. The corporation, founded in 1972, ranks in the mid-size company category, which is for companies with up to 5,000 employees and between 100 million and 1 billion dollars in annual revenue.

Gainesville-based Northeast Georgia Health System also made Newsweek’s list of “greatest workplaces,” earning 4.5 stars. The regional health care provider is ranked as a large-sized company with over 5,000 employees that generates between 5 to 10 billion dollars a year.

Newsweek, which publishes various rankings and surveys, also recognized NGHS as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces in three specific categories: Women, Mental Well-Being, and Diversity.

“Receiving these awards is a testament to the incredible efforts of our entire team,” said NGHS President and CEO Carol Burrell. “We believe that a great workplace is essential to providing exceptional care, and these recognitions show our commitment to making sure that happens each and every day.”

Emory, Northside Hospital, and Childrean’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA), also ranked among Georgia’s best workplaces.

Methodology

Working with data analytics firm Plant-A Insights, Newsweek assessed thousands of companies to create the rankings. The magazine says over 250,000 U.S. employees were interviewed throughout 2022 and 2023, resulting in over 1.5 million company reviews spanning 78 sectors. Analysts considered employee feedback, human resources practices, and public data to determine which workplaces stood out.
