The festival showcases the talents of North Georgia artists and artisans. This is the North Georgia Arts Guild’s premier members’ show, first introduced in 2008 as Art at the Lake.

It was a one-day, outdoor show at the Lake Rabun Pavilion. The show was moved in 2015 to an in-town and indoor event for more space.

The Painted Fern Art Festival showcases over 40 artists at the Rabun County Civic Center and Pavilion over the weekend. Non-members are invited to exhibit if space allows.

Founded in 1994 in Rabun County, The North Georgia Arts Guild is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. It started with 20 founding members and has grown to over 100 members today. Members are from all over the country with skills from beginner to advanced.

According to the NGAG website, there are sponsored workshops, art-related field trips, and numerous art shows.

Monthly meetings are held at the Clayton First United Methodist Church in the Fellowship Hall. You can also see art displayed at booth #6 at Butler’s Gallery on Main Street in Clayton.
