You asked…we answered…
Thank you to Pastor Jonathan Barron of The Gate Church, Clarkesville, Georgia, who answered our reader’s question:
Should Christ’s resurrection be celebrated or should we only observe the memorial of His death, and why?
Answer:
Philippians 3:10-11– “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.”
Paul, the author of Philippians, could not separate the death and resurrection, and neither can we. If only His death happened, then Jesus would have been considered a martyr as opposed to the Savior of the world. If only His resurrection happened, then His resurrection would not have saving power in it. In other words, the Cross was the PRICE but the resurrection was the PROOF.

We celebrate His birth, life, death, burial, resurrection, ascension, & promise of the Holy Spirit.
