Fair Begins Friday!

The Chattahoochee Mountain Fair returns this week to Habersham County. It begins on Friday, Sept. 11, and continues through Saturday, Sept. 19. This year’s fair promises a variety of events and contests for all ages. There will be adult art, photography, and hand crafts; youth 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) competitions in livestock showing; and youth contests in scarecrow and poster art, tree identification, photography and baking.

Admission to the fair is $5 for adults, $3 for ages 5-12, and free for children 4 and under. Rides on Family Night, Monday, Sept. 14, will be $15 for unlimited riding. Ride tickets are $20 on both Saturdays, and $18 on other nights.

On opening night, Friday, Sept. 11, the RAM Rodeo Series begins at the fairgrounds at 8:00 p.m., with the gospel group Remnant singing at 8:30. On Saturday morning, Sept. 12, the annual 5K Walk/Run will begin at 8:00 a.m., with on-site registration at 7:00 a.m. and online registration at the fair’s web site.

The fair comes to an end on Saturday, Sept. 19, featuring a K-9 Fashion Show competition at 2:30 p.m. and a concert by southern rock band Wet Willie at 8:00 p.m.
