The Georgia Department of Transportation is alerting drivers to possible traffic delays at Banks Crossing on Thursday.
Contractors will be milling the center lane along a mile-and-a-half stretch of highway from Faulkner Road to Dallas Drive.
The work is scheduled between 9 p.m. Thursday, August 10, and 6 a.m. Friday, August 11, weather permitting. The work is being done in preparation for the construction of a raised median.
State transportation officials encourage drivers to seek alternate routes to avoid delays. Pay attention to posted speed limits in work zones and watch for workers if traveling through the area.
