Why did I walk in here?
Have you ever asked yourself that question upon entering a room? I have many times.
We have on our smartphones, these apps, that remind us of everything (to-do’s, b-days, shopping list, etc.). Of course, these are great to have, if we can remember we have them. It keeps us from forgetting important things. We live in a time where our lives are full of “stuff”. Our minds are filled from morning to night. That’s why we walk into rooms and forget why we are there.
Let me ask you a question. How many times have you forgotten to eat? Sure, there are days that you may be too busy for breakfast, or maybe lunch, but have you gone days without eating, simply because you were too busy? I would imagine not.
How many times a week do we forget to read the scriptures? Where does our Bible study fit into our daily schedule?
We eat, because if we don’t, we will die. Food gives us energy, and helps us fight off different things. In the same way, the Word of God, give us energy, life, and helps us fight off the things that come at us daily.
Psalm 119:105 (ESV) “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
The next time you walk into a room and forget why you’re there, just grab your Bible, and read the scriptures. You may not remember what you were looking for, but odds are you will find everything you need.
