Evelyn Cochran Herrin, age 96, of Cornelia, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at her residence following a brief illness. She was surrounded by her loving family and numerous friends.
Born on December 10, 1926, in Homer, Georgia. She was a daughter of the late William O. and Mabel Carter Cochran. Mrs. Herrin and her family have owned and operated Forest Lane Mini Mart for many years. She loved gardening! She and her sisters would plant and harvest sufficient vegetables every year to supply multiple families and her floral display around her house gave pleasure to many passersby. Above all, she loved and enjoyed her family – especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren!
Evelyn was a very active and long-time member of B.C. Grant Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending Sunday School and had, for years, participated in Bible Schools, choir, providing meals, and countless other activities sponsored by her church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Perry Herrin; sisters, Margaret Maney, Eloise Shirley, and Joann Cochran; brothers, Jewell, Harold, Bobby, W.O., Theron, and Wilton Cochran.
