Eula Estelle Dodd Kinney, age 80, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
Born in Clarkesville on January 26, 1944, Mrs. Kinney was the daughter of the late Bernice C. and Ethel Smith Dodd. Eula was a lifelong resident of Habersham County. She lived her life with an immense love for her family and friends, always with a twinkle in her eye. She was employed in the finance business for over 30 years, retiring in 2010. She opened Covington Credit Corp in Toccoa, GA, in 1983, where she managed for 25 years and supervised Southern Management for 3 years. She had a lifelong passion for helping people. After retirement, she continued this passion by volunteering with Meals on Wheels, and Sharing and Caring, and her church, as well as taking family members and friends to doctors appointments or baking cakes for everyone. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She was best known as Mom, Grannie, and Auntie E. Her door was always open and she loved to sit on the porch and visit, watch the birds, cooking for her family and rescuing animals. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a love for the Lord and a great faith. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kinney is preceded in death by husband, Ernest Clark Kinney, and son, Lloyd Clark Kinney; brothers Carl, Charles, Gene, and Clinton Dodd; and sisters Arbutus Brewer and Lavon Smith
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Wade Rhodes of Demorest, GA, and Deborah and Terry Barrett of Cornelia, GA. grandchildren, Corey (Eric Trotman), Clint Coker, Josh (Jessica) Kinney, Austin Kinney, Kaitlin (Thomas) Caudell. great grandchildren, Leland and Kendall Trotman, Levi, Sara and Noah Kinney, Owen Kinney and Lucy Caudell, special mention, Jessica (John) Kimbrell, Peyton and Elliana, and long-time friend Sylvia Marie Holland, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 21, 2024, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chris Webb, officiating. Interment will follow the service in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Monday, prior to the service from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
