I ran into a friend today struggling with life who needed encouragement. Whether it is financial, emotional, physical, or spiritual, all of us want to know “everything is going to be good.” Life is messy sometimes. One day we are shouting from the roof tops and the next day we are rolling around in the mud. It just happens that way. But the best part is God always has an answer.
Here are 7 scriptures which can bring you comfort when you need encouragement. Try to memorize and use one per week. Make them a part of your daily language. God’s Word is a wonderful tool to help us with life’s challenges.
Psalm 34:17, “ When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.”
Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Psalm 46:1-3, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.”
2 Timothy 1:7, “ for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
Psalm 120:1, “In my distress I called to the Lord, and He answered me.“
Psalm 18:32-36, “It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He enables me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You give me your shield of victory, and your right hand sustains me; you stoop down to make me great. You broaden the path beneath me, so that my ankles do not turn.”
