The McDonald’s in Cornelia is back open for business after being forced to close for several hours on Monday due to an electrical fire.
Cornelia fire crews arrived at the scene at 1585 U.S. 441 just after 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 21. When they arrived, employees and customers had already made their way out of the building.
A McDonald’s supervisor tells Now Habersham the fire occurred near the front of the restaurant.
There was no apparent damage to the structure and no report of injuries.
Although they initially thought they would have to close for the evening, the supervisor says employees were able to clean up after the incident and reopen the restaurant at 7 p.m.
