Today’s the last day to qualify for municipal elections. Habersham County Election Supervisor Laurel Ellison says candidates may qualify up until 4:30 p.m.
So far, 14 candidates have qualified to fill 16 open seats. Former Demorest City Councilwoman Florence Wikle is among them. She’s looking to make a political comeback after narrowly being defeated in her bid to hold onto her City Council seat in 2013.
