A 92-year-old woman was struck and killed by a pickup truck in a pedestrian accident in Gainesville. It happened around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 14.
Police say preliminary findings show Bernice Thurmond of Gainesville was walking across Limestone Parkway near Lighthouse Manor Drive when she was struck by a Honda Ridgeline that was traveling south.
The driver of the truck remained on the scene and immediately reported the incident to 911.
First responders arrived to render aid and investigate the crash. Thurmond died as a result of her injuries, according to Gainesville Police. Medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.
The police department says no charges are expected at this time,
