A two-vehicle crash in Hart County seriously injured an Elberton woman. The crash happened at about 2:43 p.m. August 19, northeast of Bowman, says state troopers.
According to the preliminary crash investigation, 43-year-old Charity A. McNeil was driving a Pontiac G6 south on Eagle Grove School Road. She failed to yield after stopping at the stop sign and pulled into the path of a Ford F-350 westbound on GA 172, says Sgt. J.R. Dean of Georgia State Patrol Post 52 in Hartwell.
The pickup struck the Pontiac on the driver’s side, seriously injuring McNeil. Hart County EMS transported her to AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, South Carolina.
The driver of the Ford, 32-year-old Joshua Brian Wheeler of Crawford, was not injured.
The State Patrol says no impairment was suspected. Dean says McNeil will be charged with failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign when she is released from the hospital.
