(Alto) – In conjunction with the 8th Annual Battle of the Heroes flag football game on August 15th, the Easton Foundation will also host its inaugural Cruise-In prior to the game. From 4-6 in the afternoon on the 15th, classic car enthusiasts are invited to bring their classic car for display or come enjoy the cars on display in front of Raider Stadium on the campus of Habersham Central High School. The Cruise-In leads into gates opening at 6 pm for the Battle of the Heroes football game inside Raider Stadium.
“We are incredibly excited to host the Cruise-In this year,” says Glenn Ingram, the chairman of the board for the Easton Foundation. “The Battle of the Heroes game has grown every year, and we felt it was a great time to add a second event for fans to come out to.”
All classic cars are welcome, and registration will happen the day of the Cruise-In with the registration fee being on donation base only. Registration opens at 3:30 p.m. and will close at 5:30. There will be 10 awards to be presented at the conclusion of the Cruise-In including top three cars, best in show, and more. Anyone with questions on registration is asked to direct all questions to Colin Lacy, the Director of Communications for the Easton Foundation at [email protected].
At the beginning of July, the Easton Foundation announced that the 8th Annual Battle of the Heroes game would be taking place on August 15th with kickoff inside Raider Stadium at 7 PM. This will be the first time an event takes place prior to the Battle of the Heroes.
The Easton Foundation 501 (c)(3) is based out of Habersham County, Georgia. After losing Easton Singleton, a beloved friend and teen to a car accident in 2012, the community rallied together to turn tragedy into triumph. The Easton Foundation was founded by Casey Lizama shortly after Easton’s passing in 2012 as a way to help other teens with pain and loss, and also encourage youth to connect with their community and become leaders. Each year the Easton Foundation not only provides assistance in times of need in the community but also awards numerous scholarships to help teens in the northeast Georgia community pursue their dreams of higher education.
