E. Terry Halloway

E. Terry Holloway entered into his Heavenly Home on January 30, 2015, surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Holloway was born on November 5, 1942 in LaGrange, GA. For the past 14 years he and his wife Linda have resided in their mountain home in the Clarkesville, GA area where they found peace and tranquility.

He is survived by his wife Linda James Holloway of Clarkesville, mother, Marcella Holloway of LaGrange, GA, daughter Beverly and husband Bobby Thorne of Bluffton, SC, granddaughters Kristen, Kathryn and Katie Thorne; sisters, Barbara Yarborough, Kathy Weathers, brother, Randy Holloway, of LaGrange, and sister Sandra Reedy and husband Guy, of Scofield, WI.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elvin Holloway son, Brian Holloway and granddaughter Kyra Thorne.

Terry retired from the Naval Air Station in Marietta, GA after 32 years of service. He served in the US Navy as a Seabee during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Military Assistance Command Award for Exceptional Degree of Professional Competency and Devotion of Duty while serving in Vietnam. He was a disabled veteran and member of the VFW of Toccoa, GA. He was also a member of the Clarkesville Masonic Lodge and displayed a passion for fishing and woodworking where he built bird houses that were one of a kind.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville, 181 Jefferson Street Clarkesville, GA 30523, in Terry’s memory/honor for their devotion and caring spirit during his illness. We would also like to express gratitude to Dr. Benny Rice of Lilburn, GA, for his unselfish and tireless caregiving during Terry’s illness.

A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Clarkesville at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 7, 2015. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
