It’s become a spring tradition and one of the hottest tickets in town: Circle of Hope’s annual Dancing with the Stars for Hope fundraiser is March 30. Tickets go on sale next week.
The event highlights ten teams of volunteer dancers from Habersham and surrounding counties. The format closely resembles the widely-acclaimed “Dancing with the Stars” television show. It features couples performing dance routines and the judges providing colorful comments.
This year’s slate of dancers includes a college president, local restaurateurs, business owners, educators, a realtor, radio announcer, golf pro, community and political leaders, and the head of Habersham County Emergency Services.
Judges will present awards in several categories including “Judges Choice”, “People’s Choice”, and “Most Entertaining.” The team that raises the most money receives the “People’s Choice” award. Online voting for that category is already underway. To cast your vote visit click HERE.
Proceeds from donations and ticket sales benefit the Circle of Hope domestic violence shelter and programs.
Tickets will go on sale to the public at 7 a.m. on January 15. You may reserve your seats and purchase your tickets online at dancingwiththestarsforhope.com or in person (cash or check only) at the Circle of Hope office in Cornelia at 592 North Main Street.
The DWTS event will be held at the Habersham Central High School Auditorium on Saturday evening, March 30.
