DWTS for Hope postponed amid coronavirus concerns

After months of rehearsals and promotion, you’ll have to wait to find out who wins the mirror ball trophy a while longer. Due to the coronavirus COVID-19 threat, Circle of Hope has postponed this month’s Dancing With the Stars for Hope fundraiser. The agency based its decision on CDC and governmental recommendations to not hold large public gatherings and to use social distancing.

The event is Circle of Hope’s largest annual fundraiser. It was scheduled to take place at Habersham Central High School’s Performing Arts Auditorium on March 20 and 21. A new date has not yet been set.

“We will be working with the participating dancers, Habersham Central High School, and those involved in the production of the event to determine a new date for the event,” says Circle of Hope Executive Director Suzanne Dow.

Since it began five years ago, the DWTS fundraiser has raised over a half-million dollars to support Circle of Hope’s domestic abuse shelter and programs.

Circle of Hope remains open and available to those needing assistance. Victims may contact the agency for help through its 24-hour crisis line at 706-776-4673, 24-hour text line 706-768-1616 or by chat at https://www.gacircleofhope.org/
