The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle collision that claimed the life of a Duluth man and injured nine other people in Clermont on Saturday night, October 15.
At approximately 11:30 p.m., Uniform Patrol Division deputies responded to the crash between a Honda Odyssey minivan and Honda Civic on U.S. 129/Cleveland Highway at Hulsey Road.
The driver of the car, 33, died at the scene.
The occupants of the minivan, five adults and four children, all from Gainesville, were transported to hospitals by Hall County Fire Rescue ambulances and an Air Life helicopter.
According to the preliminary investigation by the HCSO Accident Investigation Unit, the driver of the car was passing vehicles while heading south on Cleveland Hwy. His car struck the northbound minivan.
Investigators are withholding the deceased driver’s name pending notification of next of kin.
The collision remains under investigation.
