No rain in sight

It has been over three weeks since much of the region saw its last rain with Helene. Unfortunately this dry spell looks to continue.

A stout high pressure system has been absolutely dominating the weather over the central and eastern part of the country for the past three weeks. It doesn’t seem to be going anywhere for a while. This will keep us dry and sunny for the foreseeable future across North Georgia.

Possible14 day rain total from the GFS

This week expect highs in the 70s each day with sunny skies.

Also, I strongly advise against doing any significant burning until we get some rain. The soil is getting very dry and with leaves starting to fall the risk for wildfires will begin to go up quickly in the next 7-10 days.
