Two drivers escaped serious injury when a van collided with a gravel truck on GA-384/Duncan Ridge Road near the Habersham-White County line.

Both vehicles were traveling east when the accident happened just before noon on Thursday, July 23.

Brandon Browner, 41, of Gainesville, was driving a RAM ProMaster cargo van when he attempted to turn left from the righthand lane. The van pulled into the path of the Mack truck, according to the Georgia State Patrol. After impact, the van came to a stop in the middle of the road while the truck crashed through a guardrail and ran down the embankment, striking several trees before overturning onto its side.

Browner and the truck driver, Jeffery Murray, 42, of Cleveland, managed to escape with minor injuries, officials say. The accident completely shut down a section of Duncan Bridge Road near the crash site for over an hour as officials investigated and wreckers cleared the scene.

The Georgia State Patrol and Department of Public Safety, Motor Carrier Compliance Division are investigating the crash.
