A wreck at the intersection of Antioch Church Road and GA 15/US 441 seriously injured a Baldwin woman. The wreck happened around 12:38 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Bessie Brock, 75, was driving a Kia Sorento east on Antioch Church Road. Troopers say she failed to yield after stopping at the stop sign and pulled into the path of a southbound Ford F-150.

The pickup truck struck the Kia on the driver’s side, causing the Kia to overturn onto its side. Habersham County Emergency Services personnel had to extricate the person, says Habersham County Public Information Officer Rob Moore.

Brock was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with suspected serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck, Barry Tarver, 57, and his 49-year-old passenger, Deena Tarver, both of Cumming, sustained possible minor injuries but were not transported to the hospital.

Three dogs traveling with the Tarvers in the truck’s cab were unharmed in the accident. Habersham County Animal Care and Control transported the dogs and their owners to the shelter to wait for a ride.
