A 19-year-old driver and his passenger were uninjured when the pickup they were riding in overturned on GA 365 in Mt. Airy.
The crash happened near Hazel Creek Road around 9:45 a.m. Saturday morning, Nov. 25.
According to the Georgia State Patrol’s preliminary investigation, William Holbrooks of Homer was driving a Mazda B3000 northbound. While attempting to miss a stopped vehicle on the highway, his truck overturned. The pickup truck landed upside down in the median.
A trooper from GSP Post 7 in Toccoa investigated the wreck. The report did not include information about the other vehicle or explain why it was stopped.
A passenger vehicle on a tow truck at the scene appeared to have significant damage to its front driver’s side. It’s unclear if this is the same vehicle Holbrooks was attempting to avoid when he wrecked.
GSP identified the pickup truck passenger as 64-year-old William Holbrooks (same name as the driver).
The wreck temporarily stalled northbound traffic as law enforcement investigated the wreck and tow trucks cleared the scene.
