Habersham EMS transported a Jefferson man to the hospital with suspected serious injuries Tuesday after the dump truck he was driving overturned.

The single-vehicle wreck happened just after 10 a.m. on May 9 on Yonah Post Road in Alto.

Troopers from Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa investigated the wreck. They say the driver, Greg Lawrence, 57, was hauling a load of dirt, traveling north on GA 365 in the right turn lane. According to GSP, he was driving too fast for conditions and made an improper turn, causing the dump truck to overturn onto its driver’s side.
