Driver injured in rollover wreck on GA 365

A collision with a dump truck on GA 365 North in Alto on Monday caused a vehicle to overturn, injuring the driver, the state patrol says. The crash happened just before 8:30 a.m. Monday at the intersection with Wilbanks Road.

According to troopers, the Mack truck driver was in the gore area attempting to make a wide left turn when he pulled back into the travel lane. A northbound Ford Escape Titanium struck the right side of the dump truck with its left front quarter panel. After impact, the Ford Escape traveled into the median where it overturned.

Habersham EMS transported the driver, Leslie Soledad-Zavala of Crossville, Alabama, to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainsville for treatment.

Troopers identified the dump truck driver as 38-year-old Adam Ortiz of Lula. They charged him with making an improper turn.

The wreck happened less than three miles from where five people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on GA 365 in Alto on Saturday.
