A quick response from emergency personnel is being credited with saving a young man’s life following a wreck on GA 365.
23-year-old Jared Lanier Sartain of Lavonia was driving a Ford F350 with a loaded trailer attached when he lost control of the vehicle, crashed through a guardrail and overturned down a steep embankment. The accident happened shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday.
“A quick response from the Stephens County EMS personnel allowed the driver to be extricated and Life Flighted to Greenville Medical,” says Georgia State Patrol Cpl. Dallas Van Scoten of Post 7 in Toccoa.
Sartain was listed in critical condition.
Two male passengers in the pickup were taken to Stephens County Hospital with minor injuries.
Cpl. Van Scoten says Sartain was driving above the posted speed limit. Charges are pending the driver’s recovery.
