The Georgia State Patrol charged a man with driving under the influence after he rolled an SUV in a wreck Monday night in Mt. Airy.
According to the state patrol crash report, Ali Gonzaga Sanchez, 43, of Baltimore, Maryland, was traveling west on Blair Road. Sanchez lost control of the Ford Explorer he was driving. The vehicle overturned onto its top and came to an uncontrolled rest on the north shoulder of the roadway.
The crash happened around 9:16 p.m. near the Fieldale Farms hatchery off Dicks Hill Parkway.
Habersham County EMS transported Sanchez to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with possible minor injuries.
In addition to DUI, the state patrol charged Sanchez with failure to maintain lane.
The wreck shut down Blair Road for about an hour as a state trooper investigated the wreck and crews cleared the wreckage.
