Police charged a Cornelia woman with DUI after she struck a 6-year-old boy with her car Sunday evening in Clarkesville.
The accident happened around 5:45 p.m. on Ed Carroll Drive near Lockwood Street.
44-year-old Renita Folds was driving a 2012 GMC Acadia south on Ed Carroll Drive when Jariah Jones entered the roadway. The car struck the boy in the middle of the road, according to a report from Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa.
Habersham EMS transported the Clarkesville boy by ambulance to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with possible injuries.
Folds was not injured. She was arrested and booked into the Habersham County jail.
