Dottie, a stray from the streets, waits for her forever home

Dottie was picked up off the streets in Habersham in March. She's great with kids and would be a perfect addition to any family. (Habersham County Animal Care and Control)

Woof! My name is Dottie, a one-year-old, 50-pound mixed-breed pup, and I’m ready to charm my way into your heart and home. Let me tell you why I could be the ‘paw-fect’ addition to your family!

My journey began when I was brought to the shelter as a requested stray pick-up in March. Since then, I’ve been eagerly awaiting my chance to find a loving forever family to call my own.

Pick me for a pet and I’ll teach you how to stop and smell the roses (and cherry blossoms). Our lives will be richer side by side. (Habersham County Animal Care and Control)

Now, let’s talk about preferences. I prefer to be the only pet in the house. Yep, that’s right, no other kitties or doggies for me, please! But here’s the twist – I absolutely adore kids! They’re like my personal playmates, and I’ll shower them with all the love and affection they could ever want. Whether it’s fetch in the backyard or cuddle time on the couch, I’m all in!

Speaking of cuddle time, I’m super gentle and easy with kids, making me the paw-fect family dog. I’ve got a heart as big as my appetite for treats, and I can’t wait to share it with my new human companions.

Now, let’s talk about training. While I’m still working on my leash manners, I’m a quick learner and eager to please. I already know the command “sit,” and with a little more practice, I’ll be an easy walker in no time.

And here’s the best part – I’m already spayed, up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and heartworm-negative.

So what do you say? Are you ready to open your heart and home to a sweet, loving pup like me? I’m available for same-day adoption, so come on down to the Habersham County Animal Shelter in Clarkesville, Georgia, and let’s start our journey together!
