Dorothy Thomas King

Dorothy Thomas King, age 91, of Alto, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015.
Born on February 14, 1924 in Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Gertrude Weaver Thomas. Mrs. King was retired from Fieldale Farms and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. She enjoyed flowers, canning and traveling to the mountains.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. King was also preceded in death by daughters, Nancy Jean King and Mary Frances King Kinsey; granddaughters, Sonya Denise Burrell, Myra Smith and Penny Smith; several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Max King of Alto; daughters, Margaret Tolbert of Lavonia, Ruth Evans of Hartwell, Grace Ledford (Jerry) of Clarkesville, Christine Martin of Alto, Mary Harbin (Jerry) of Hartwell, Anna Fowler (Thomas) of Demorest and Amanda Seabolt (David) of Madison, Georgia; sons, William King (Shirley), Dennis King (Kathy), Jimmy King (Karen), Wesley King (Cindy), David King (Kimberly) all of Alto and Phil King (Terry) of Carnesville; sister, Pheobe Dodd of Tennessee; 72 grandchildren, 105 great grandchildren and 25 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services are 2 pm Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Level Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell, Pastor Cody Kelley and Pastor Wes King officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
