Doris Hardman Kitchens, age 88, of Demorest, Georgia passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021.
Mrs. Kitchens was born on September 10, 1933, in Monroe, Georgia to the late Theodore and Mary Marshall Hardman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ulas Kitchens; son, Jimmy Alexander; step-son, Marty Kitchens; step-grandson, Ricky Kitchens; brother, Clifford Hardman; sister, Lillian McKissick; Mrs. Kitchens was a member of Habersham Church of Christ. She had retired from Mount Vernon Mills with many years of service. Doris was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Gerald Nix, of Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Millie Alexander, of Murrayville; step-sons, Andy Kitchens, of Alto; Johnny Kitchens, of Cameron, NC; step-daughter, Stacy Taylor, of Louisville, KY; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Joann Hardman, of Jasper; Kathy Adams, of Demorest; brothers, Roger Hardman, of Atlanta; Harry Hardman, of Murrayville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 19, 2021, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Minister Arthur Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., Sunday, September 19, 2021, at the funeral home.
