Doris Baird Clark, age 84 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, July 01, 2015 at her residence following a brief illness.
Born in Stephens County, Georgia on November 15, 1930, she was a daughter of the late J.W. “Doc” & Essie Mae Oliver Baird. Mrs. Clark served as head administrative clerk for the State of Georgia at Georgia Industrial Institute, now LACI and retired after 22 years of service. Doris was a wonderful mother, doting grandmother, and an avid bridge player. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cornelia and currently a member of the Cornelia United Methodist Church television congregation.
Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Susan Clark Campbell & Steve Campbell of Cornelia; daughter, Sallie Clark, of Suwanee; brother, Mack Baird; and a granddaughter, Sarah Campbell, both of Cornelia; niece & nephew, Julie Baird Pierce & Cliff Baird, both of Cornelia; several great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, & friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 03, 2015 at the Cornelia United Methodist Church with the Dr. Jay Hughes & Rev. Steve Doran officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens in Demorest.
The family will be at the home of Steve & Susan Clark Campbell and will receive friends at the McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home from 5 until 8 p.m. on Thursday.
