NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – Battling against weather delays and the elements throughout round two, Erin Donovan was able to hold her own with a 77 (+5) on Wednesday at the NCAA DIII Championship.
Despite a 9:10 a.m. start time, it was nearly 5:30 p.m. before her round concluded after multiple weather delays throughout the day.
Beginning her day with an early tee time and starting on the back nine, Donovan delivered a beautiful shot from the greenside bunker at her opening hole to make a par.
After a double bogey at the 13th and a bogey at 15, she settled down to make two consecutive pars to conclude her outward nine.

Donovan was able to make three consecutive pars as she began her back nine before the skies opened up again and play was stopped after her tee shot at the par-3 4th sailed long of the green.
Then, after another nearly hour delay, she carded her second double bogey of the day as play resumed.
However, she fought back, and in thrilling fashion, made her first birdie of the day, coming at the par-5 8th. She found the tall grass with her tee shot, but after a pitch out and an outstanding third shot from the fairway, she holed her pitch shot for the unlikely birdie.
How’s that for the first birdie of the day 🤩🤩

Then, after getting in trouble with her tee shot at the 9th, she made a clutch bogey putt to avoid further damage and get in the house at 5-over 77 for the day and +7 overall for the tournament.
The second round was not completed due to the two weather delays and darkness. The round will be completed starting Thursday morning at 7 a.m.
For individuals making the cut, the top six of players competing as individuals in addition to individuals on teams who do not make the cut will advance past 36 holes. Ties will be resolved with a playoff immediately following the conclusion of the second round.
Round Three will then begin approximately 1.5 hours after the playoff is finished, should there be one.
